Mini-Documentary
This documentary about my late beloved puppy, Leia, was created with deep dedication and care to honor her emotional significance. From the start, I envisioned the film divided into sections: the joyful beginning, the painful downfall, and the second-chance ending that represents a new chapter.
Given the short timeframe, I chose to open with a quote about the love people feel for their dogs to immediately capture the viewer’s attention and transition straight into the story—avoiding a slow build that might distract from the film’s true meaning. The slightly grainy, nostalgic footage of Leia brings the emotion directly to the audience, enhanced by the slow, building music that becomes uplifting at the end.
The overall narrative allowed me to express themes of perseverance and hope—that by maintaining a “never-say-never” attitude, second chances and brighter futures are possible. That is exactly what happened in this story, making it a heartfelt, motivational, and inspiring experience, even within its four-minute runtime.
